Amsterdam may have launched a campaign attempting to dissuade visitors looking for a “messy” night, but one tourist most definitely did not get the memo, climbing down a railing and nearly falling into what appears to be the Amstel River during a crazy day on the town.

In the now-viral clip, the man, who presumably had one-too-many space cakes and possibly a few extra mushrooms, can be seen teetering over the body of water, somehow managing to fall asleep intertwined with the metal bars.

After enjoying what may easily be the world’s most avant-garde nap — sorry, Tilda Swinton — the tourist tried their luck heading down the stairs, a pursuit that ended just as badly.

Though they were able to balance on one foot for several moments, they ultimately decided that scaling the railings would be a more efficient way of heading down to the riverside, before performing what appears to be bar-based ballet in front of two probably very annoyed city officials.

It remains unclear what happened with his run-in with the cops, but one thing is certain — he most definitely had one heck of a trip.
